Designed with a unique swivel base, this rod holder allows the rod butt to rotate when side pressure is applied to the tip of the rod. It is specifically designed for use with bent butt tackle, making it an indispensable tool for Giant Blue Fin Tuna fishing where reel drags of up to 60 pounds are commonly used.

With the swivel base rod holder, sheared rod holder pins are a thing of the past. The rotating ability of the rod holder allows the tip of the rod to follow the fish, reducing the possibility of line fraying and enhancing drag as the line streams sideways out of the roller tip. Additionally, the rod can be easily removed from the holder since it is not locked on a rigid pin.

When used with straight butt rods, the swivel base holder functions as a standard rod holder. Straight butt rods can be manually rotated to keep the line on the tips roller.
