It features a single start non-jamming, extra strong, self-cleaning buttress thread that requires no tools to open. The plate incorporates a self-aligning center and an innovative gasket to ensure a watertight seal. Even if the gasket is removed, a backup sealing wall leaves the plate watertight.

The screw-out plate is especially useful in compartments where a change in air pressure due to temperature or oil canning can occur.
